From 2004 to 2009, Paul Brook takes the time to simmer in his studio Halbop, an ambitious musical and conceptual work. Musician, guitarist, composer and performer, Paul Brook imagines the album Deep Tripper as a quadruple album which tells the adventure of a fantasy hero. Musical, spiritual and adventurous journey, the hero of Deep Tripper, explores the limbo of human consciousness. After a car accident, the hero go through a modified state of consciousness. Between life and death, between memories and the call of the absolute, he stays floating in an uncertain place.

 

The quadruple album Deep Tripper is a French rock / pop album which gives an important place to the instrumental. The lyricism of the guitar answers to the psychedelic themes of the songs. Following  the tradition of American jam bands, this style, not so developed in France and in the French language, brings a new musical touch to the current scene. The winks addressed to the popes of American psychedelic rock - guitarists such as Jerry Garcia, Jimi Hendrix or Trey Anastasio are many.

In 2012, Paul Brook records in a week-end a album of new songs, Katmandou, not finished yet but still apreciated by many fans.

De 2004 à 2009, Paul Brook prend le temps pour  mijoter dans son studio Halbop, une oeuvre musicale et conceptuelle ambitieuse. Musicien guitariste, compositeur et interprète, Paul Brook imagine l'album Deep Tripper est un quadruple album qui narre l'aventure d'un héro imaginaire. Voyage musical, spirituel et aventurier, le héros de Deep Tripper, explore les limbes de la conscience humaine. Après un accident de voiture, le héros est projeté dans un état de conscience modifié. Entre vie et mort, entre réminiscences et appel de l'absolu, il flotte dans un non lieu incertain.

 

Le quadruple album Deep Tripper est un album de rock/pop français qui donne une place importante aux instrumentaux. Le lyrisme de la guitare répond aux thèmes psychédéliques des chansons. S'inscrivant dans la lignée des jam bands américains, ce style peu développé en français amène une nouvelle touche musicale sur la scène actuelle. Les clins d'oeil adressés aux papes du rock psychédéliques américains - des guitaristes tels Jerry Garcia, Jimi Hendrix ou encore Trey Anastasio sont nombreux.

En 2012, Paul Brook enregistre en un week-end un album de nouvelles chansons, Katmandou, qui sont restées à l'état de maquette mais qui sont néanmoins appréciées par beaucoup.
